|
NOTEWORTHY PERFORMANCE
PSI performs Tank Cleaning / Hazardous Waste project which saves its customer more in disposal costs, than the entire project cost, while reducing the plants waste disposal liability!
THE CHALLENGE
Customer has a 150,000 bbl tank (183' in diameter) with 5800 bbl's of sludge containing Benzene, which has been declared a Hazardous material.
THE SOLUTION
PSI configured a processing system that consisted of our Solids Decontamination Unit (SDU), which includes centrifuges, special tanks, roll of boxes, frac tanks and cutter stock.
THE RESULTS
Processing confirmed PSI's analysis that the hazardous material could be removed from the solids. 5800 bbl's of oil were recovered and 2000 bbl's of non-hazardous waste were disposed of. The 50 day project was completed 13 days ahead of schedule, with no safety or environmental incidents, despite the percentage of solids being higher than an independent analysis of the sludge indicated.
THE ANALYSIS
|
By using PSI, the customer saved $ 269,750.00 in addition to the recovered oil and early availability of the tank. The savings are based on $ 450/ton for hazardous waste disposal verses $ 35/ton for non-hazardous waste.
