| THE CHALLENGE |
| Customer has a large Bulk Treater containing 650 barrels of NORM waste reading in excess of 850 microroentgens/hour that needs to be cleaned for repairs involving "hot work". |
| THE SOLUTION |
| PSI utilizes its Solids Decontamination Unit (SDU) to reduce the volume of waste, and segregates remaining solids into NOW and NORM waste streams. |
| THE RESULTS |
| PSI cleans the vessel for "hot work" and gets the platform back online as quickly as possible. The 650 barrels of waste removed from the vessel are reduced to 350 barrels (75 barrels of NOW, and 275 of NORM). |

By using PSI, the customer saves $ 192,000.00 (based on a cost of $550.00 per barrel) in downhole NORM disposal costs, and the project was completed without any safety or environmental incidents.
